Hawes is a historic market town in Upper Wensleydale, North Yorkshire, first recorded in the 1300s. It grew as a farming and trading centre, with its stone cottages and narrow lanes shaped by centuries of rural life. The village is famous for its central waterfall, the surrounding Dales landscape and the nearby Wensleydale Creamery. Today, Hawes is one of the most visited places in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, known for its scenery, walking routes and traditional Yorkshire character.
An original pencil drawing capturing the heart of Hawes, one of the most loved villages in the Yorkshire Dales. The piece shows the stepped waterfall flowing through the centre of the village, surrounded by traditional stone cottages, winding lanes and the calm rural atmosphere that Hawes is known for. Detailed graphite shading brings out the texture of the rocks, the movement of the water and the character of the old Yorkshire buildings. A peaceful, nostalgic artwork for anyone who loves the Dales, countryside scenes or the charm of Hawes itself.
